BSAFE LAB​ - Law Enforcement, Justice and Public Safety Research and Technology Transfer Laboratory University of Beira Interior

The University of Beira Interior (UBI) is one of the most recent public universities in Portugal, but it is also a landmark institution in the educational, research, innovation, entrepreneurship and engineering and health-related fields.

Their mission is to "Promote high-level qualification, production, transmission, critique and dissemination of knowledge, culture, science and technology, through study, teaching and research". BSAFE LAB is a specialised research lab focused in developing research and training in the areas of justice, law enforcement and public safety.

​The research institution combines its project management experience together with the knowledge of the specific sectors, both the VET (being the university a VET provider) and the corrections research side, pulling expertise from its various faculty members to contribute to the development of the different work packages.

​IPS_Innovative Prison Systems

IPS_Innovative Prison Systems is a boutique research and advisory firm specialising in the field of justice, prison services, community sanctions and measures, juvenile justice, and law enforcement.

​IPS has extensive experience in collaborating on over 50 innovative projects with correctional services from various countries. These partnerships have led to ground-breaking advancements in staff training and development and inmate rehabilitation outcomes, earning IPS the prestigious ICPA Excellence Award for Staff Training in 2018.

CPJ - Centro Protocolar da Justiça

The Centro Protocolar da Justiça (Justice Protocol Center) is responsible for the promotion of training activities for the enhancement of the young or adult population under the responsibility of the services and agencies of the Portuguese Ministry of Justice, with a view to their integration into society. The professional training actions are developed in prisons and educational centres, assigned to the Portuguese General Directorate of Reintegration and Prison Services (DGRSP).

​​Athens Lifelong Learning Institute

The Athens Lifelong Learning Institute is a research and education institute, based in Athens, Greece. Its mission is to foster and enhance innovation processes, pimarily in the areas of education and lifelong learning, human capital development, the knowledge society, and social inclusion. 

The Institute is actively engaged in addressing various social issues such as social exclusion, discrimination, and the violation of human rights. 
Through the implementation of innovative learning methodologies, it strives to mitigate the impact of these issues.

IRFIP - Istituto Religioso di Formazione e Istruzione Professionale

The Religious Institute of Training and Professional Education (IRFIP) is a Vocational Education and Training (VET) organisation that operates in four main areas: higher education, mandatory training, disadvantaged populations, and training for both employed and unemployed individuals. 

IRFIP provides a wide range of diverse training opportunities within dynamic learning environments, offering flexible curriculum paths to enhance, specialise, and qualify skills.

The Institute aims to establish and strengthen stable relationships with Higher Education Institutes, Secondary Education Institutes, Universities, research and technological innovation centers, businesses, social partners, and local authorities.

​These collaborations enable the implementation of actions that address the demand for professional training and facilitate in-depth research and analysis of vocational training topics.

​​CIRE - Centre d'Iniciatives per a la Reinserció

CIRE, the Center for Reintegration Initiatives (Centre d'Iniciatives per a la Reinserció), is a public institution operating under the Department of Justice of the Government of Catalonia. It is entrusted by the Catalan Justice Department with the task of facilitating the social and labor reintegration of inmates.

CIRE provides vocational training and offers paid employment opportunities to inmates while they are still in prison. As inmates approach the final stages of their sentence, CIRE's Employment Bureau acts as a bridge between the correctional system and the labor market, assisting in their transition.

The primary objective of CIRE's programs is to offer individuals a second chance at life after their release, providing them with pathways to reintegrate into society successfully.

Greta du Velay

The Greta du Velay is a public training organisation in France that operates under the supervision of Lycée C. et A. Dupuy and is affiliated with the Ministry of Education. It brings together 21 educational institutions under its umbrella.

One of the main focuses of the organisation is to provide professional qualifications to individuals for the job market. The courses offered are designed to meet the specific needs of the local and regional areas, based on demand and specific calls for training.

Additionally, the Greta du Velay is actively involved in supporting the vocational inclusion of various target groups, including young unemployed individuals, early school leavers, low-skilled adults, and migrants.

​This is achieved through the development of basic skills, career guidance, and practical training within companies, with the ultimate goal of enabling these individuals to make informed career choices and find employment opportunities.

Romania
​​Iasi Penitentiary

Iasi Penitentiary is a high-security prison located in Romania, housing approximately 700 detainees. It operates as part of the defense, public order, and national security system, under the supervision of the National Administration of Penitentiaries of Romania. Given its strategic location, Iasi Prison plays a crucial role in coordinating with other prisons in the North-East region of the country.

The primary objective of this public organisation is to facilitate the successful reintegration of inmates into the local and national community. To achieve this goal, the prison provides comprehensive support from social, psychological, and educational perspectives. This assistance aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills and resources for a smooth transition back into society after their incarceration.

The efforts of Iasi Penitentiary are focused on promoting rehabilitation, addressing the needs of inmates, and preparing them for a positive and productive future beyond their time in prison.
